The Discount Calculator helps you determine the final price of an item after applying a percentage discount. It shows you exactly how much you save and what you actually pay, making it easy to evaluate deals during sales, promotions, and coupon offers.
Understanding discounts is essential for smart shopping. A '50% off' deal sounds great, but a '$20 off' coupon might save you more depending on the item's price. Stacking discounts (like 20% off + an additional 10% off) doesn't equal 30% off — it's actually 28% off the original price. This calculator helps you avoid common discount traps.
How the Formula Works
Discount Amount = Original Price × (Discount % ÷ 100). Final Price = Original Price − Discount Amount. For stacked discounts: Final = Price × (1 − D1%) × (1 − D2%).
Single discount: Savings = Price × Discount% ÷ 100
Final price = Original − Savings
Stacked discounts: Apply each discount sequentially, not additively
