How the Formula Works

Supports standard mathematical notation with operator precedence (PEMDAS/BODMAS). Trigonometric functions (sin, cos, tan and their inverses), logarithmic functions (log base 10, natural log ln), exponential functions (e^x, 10^x), power and root functions (x², x³, √x, ∛x, x^y), and factorial (n!).

  • The natural logarithm (ln) uses base e; the common logarithm (log) uses base 10
  • Remember: sin²(x) + cos²(x) = 1 for any angle x

Important Limitations

  • Floating-point arithmetic may produce tiny rounding errors (e.g., sin(π) might show as 1.2e-16 instead of exactly 0)
  • Very large numbers or very small numbers may lose precision
  • Does not support complex number arithmetic, matrices, or symbolic math
