Standard Calculator

The Standard Calculator performs basic arithmetic operations — addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It features a clean, intuitive interface similar to a physical calculator, with memory functions, percentage calculations, and a calculation history for reviewing previous results.

How the Formula Works

Follows standard mathematical order of operations (PEMDAS/BODMAS): Parentheses first, then Exponents, Multiplication and Division (left to right), Addition and Subtraction (left to right).

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter numbers using the on-screen buttons or keyboard
  2. Select the operation (+, −, ×, ÷)
  3. Press = or Enter for the result
  4. Use C to clear the current entry, AC to clear all

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use keyboard shortcuts for faster calculations: +, −, *, /, Enter, Backspace
  • Memory functions: M+ adds to memory, M- subtracts from memory, MR recalls stored value
  • The ± button toggles between positive and negative numbers

Important Limitations

  • Does not support advanced functions (trigonometry, logarithms, exponents) — use the Scientific Calculator for those
  • Floating-point arithmetic may produce tiny rounding errors in some decimal calculations
